Budapest felt like a familiar city. One that was quiet and concrete during the day and yellow at night.
We went on a "Craft Beer Cruise" one night, which circled up and down the Danube River. It was pouring rain, I was wearing a poncho down to my toes, and Joe and I were a little annoyed with each other (I wasn't ready on time and he left me in a giant crowd of people). We were seated at a table with a bunch of Hungarians, drinking a variety of locally brewed beers. On one side of the river, the Hungarian Parliament building was lit up, majestically moving away from us. The other side, an enormous rainbow spread across the entire sky. I had never seen anything like it. Joe grabbed my hand and we sprinted up the stairs to see just what we were working with. Still drizzling, we stood at the front of the ship and tried to take it all in. We weren't mad at each other anymore. The world was perfect.
Here is our short but sweet trip to Budapest, Hungary...
Hopefully, I'll be back for you.
